Problem and Business Value¶
Promote provider integrations into one secure, observable, provider-neutral contract with dated compatibility evidence.
This version reduces the operational and governance risk represented by its committed work while preserving local-first operation and human authority.
Personas and Journeys¶
- Individual developer: previews, validates, and adopts the capability locally.
- Platform engineer: configures policy, compatibility, and operational boundaries.
- Security or compliance reviewer: verifies evidence without receiving secrets or source content.
- Maintainer: publishes, supports, migrates, and retires the capability safely.
The primary journey is discover or configure, preview, validate, approve, apply, observe, update, and roll back.
Scope¶
- Provider Adapter Contract: Standardize metadata, authentication references, discovery, invocation, streaming, structured output, tools, health, usage, and errors.
- Provider Resilience and Compatibility: Add deadlines, cancellation, rate-limit interpretation, jittered retries, fallback chains, budgets, and dated compatibility manifests.
Candidates¶
- None approved.
Non-Goals¶
- No unsupported provider or model compatibility claim.
- No raw credential storage, mandatory cloud account, or automatic billing action.
Success Metrics¶
- Every supported provider passes the same offline contract suite.
- Compatibility evidence records model versions and verification dates.
- Unsafe non-idempotent requests are never retried automatically.
